World University Service of Canada Assess “So Me Mu” Mentorship Campaign in Kumasi Since it Introduction

World University Service of Canada (WUSC) as part of it initiative of sponsoring young women to learn male dominated trade introduced a three months piloting “So Me Mu” Mentorship campaign, a component of the Innovation in Non- Traditional Vocational Education and Skills Training (INVEST) project in Kumasi.

Public Engagement and Advocacy Advisor on INVEST project, Mrs. Juliana Ohenewaa Amoako-Twum- explained that, the “So Me Mu” Mentorship campaign was aimed at creating a platform that promotes growth and development for both mentors and mentees to thrive in high growth sectors which are mainly male dominated.

Mrs. Juliana Ohenewaa Amoako-Twum, Public Engagement and Advocacy when addressing the occasion said, the motive behind the gathering said was to bring on board both mentors and mentees from various schools such as KTI, Suame NVTI, Bawuro Technical, Suntreso Technical, Kwadaso Technical, Anointed Electricals, MasterCraft persons and access the “So Me Mu” Mentorship campaign since it introduction in the last three months and how best it has improved.

Mrs. Ohenewaa Amoako-Twum continue that, there is the need to get a feedback session on the “So Me Mu” Mentorship campaign from both the mentors and the mentees after the three months piloting.

The Public Engagement and Advocacy Advisor stressed that, in order for the campaign to be a success, mentors (Teachers and MasterCraft persons) and the mentees (Students and Apprentice) were to bring out their opinions, suggestions, challenges faced, strategies to include and many others which seeks to promote the campaign.
