Hundreds of aggrieved residents of Nkakaa ,a Mining community in the Amenfi Central of the Western Region have staged demonstration against Chinese mining firm called Zea & Amenfi in the area for taken over their registered concession meant for community mining.
The aggrieved youth cladded in red and black attires amid drumming and singing.
The Chairman of the aggrieved youth Nana Kwadwo Boakye popularly known as (Yedie) said community Mining is the only alternative source of livelihood empowerment in the community therefore they won’t sit down for the Chinese mining company to take over from them.
He said, they have proper documents attached to their community Mining therefore they don’t want any Chinese mining company to interfere with their activities.
They seized the opportunity to made humble appealed to the government and their member of parliament in the area to come to their aid before things got out of hands.
Addressing the Media in a press conference held at Nkakaa, some of the aggrieved residents also appealed to the government to come to their aid to support them with other aminities such as road networks, potable water,telecommunication network, market, police post and toilet facility.
