Police in Buliisa district have recovered the lifeless body of a 35 -year -old man, dumped in a nearby bush.
The deceased has only been identified as Derick, a resident of Watembo cell in Butiaba town council.
Derick was reportedly attacked and strangled to death by unknown assailants on Tuesday night while on his way home from Butiaba trading center.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says that the deceased body has bruises on the neck an indication that he could have been strangled to death before his body was dumped in the bush.
He says police picked up the body and conveyed it to Buliisa general hospital for postmortem as the hunt for the assailants is ongoing.

He has appealed to the public to cooperate with police by providing vital information that could lead to the arrest and detention of the suspects.
Musa Asaba, the LC III Chairperson of Butiaba town council says the deceased body was spotted by locals in a nearby bush in Boma cell at around 12 pm Wednesday and immediately informed the area leaders.
He says that they also informed officers at Butiaba police station.
Some locals claim the deceased was last seen around 8 pm on Tuesday evening while in good health.
They were however shocked to learn that his lifeless body had been found dumped in a bush.
