Two minors drown in River Baa in the Bono Region

Two boys, ages 8 and 10, have drowned in river Baa at Jaman South municipal in the Bono region.

Reporting from the area, Mohammed Abdul Razak said the two minors had gone to the riverside to swim.

They were at the riverside with ten other friends but could not return home.

He said the two minors, only named Kofi and Abraham, had gone missing in the river.

The ten others returned home to inform their families.

The two were discovered floating in the river when they arrived at the riverbank.

Residents are still reeling from the incident that occurred on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Meanwhile, local elders and traditional leaders plan to perform cleansing rituals for the community.

The bodies have been sent to the mortuary awaiting autopsy.
