Twifo 34: We Share The Same Water With Our Animals Causing Strange Diseases In The Community

Twifo 34 is a farming community in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district of the central region with population of over 500 people including children.

Meanwhile, the source of potable drinking water has been a major neglected challenge for the people since the inception of the town.

According to the residents, the only source of water for bathing, cooking, drinking and other purposes is the stream which they share with dogs, sheep, goats and pigs. They revealed that, there is a serious outbreak of skin rushes and diarrhea among the residents particularly children which they attribute to the contaminated water that they share with the animals.


In an interview with Wassaman FM, the assembly man for Twifo 34 electoral area, Hon. Gabriel Aheto who is also overly disturbed about the situation calls on NGOs and benevolent Organizations or individuals to come into their aid.
