Toase St Peter’s R/C Primary ‘B’ Honours Outstanding Pupils, Launches Library Project at Speech and Prize Giving Day

Toase St Peter’s R/C Primary ‘B’ in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality has celebrated academic excellence and hard work with a colourful and well-attended Speech and Prize Giving Day, held under the inspiring theme “Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow – Empowering Children Through Collective Support.” The event, which drew together parents, teachers, traditional leaders, education officials, and the wider community, marked a significant step toward promoting quality education and a brighter future for the pupils.
The ceremony was highlighted by the official launch of a fundraising initiative for the construction of a modern school library, a project the school believes will further enhance literacy, research skills, and academic performance. According to the school’s leadership, the envisioned library will serve not only current learners but generations yet to come.
Addressing the gathering, Headmaster Mr. Owusu Richard underscored the importance of creating a supportive learning environment for children. He emphasized that availability of learning resources—especially access to a well-equipped library—is essential for nurturing confident, knowledgeable, and future-ready leaders. Mr. Owusu appealed passionately to all stakeholders, including parents, the community, old students, benevolent individuals, and corporate bodies, to contribute generously to the library project.
He stressed that the school, despite its remarkable achievements, continues to face infrastructural gaps that require collective responsibility to overcome. “This library project is not just a structure; it is an investment in the future of our children,” he noted.

Representing the Municipal Director of Education, the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) commended the school’s management and staff for their dedication to academic excellence and discipline. He applauded the initiative to hold a Speech and Prize Giving Day, describing it as a strong motivation for both teachers and learners. He encouraged other schools within the municipality to emulate the example of Toase St Peter’s R/C Primary ‘B’ by organizing similar events to strengthen teaching and learning outcomes.
The traditional authority was also duly represented at the ceremony. The representative of Toase Hene, Nana Ababio Yim Awere, Mr. Solomon Yeboah, expressed sincere appreciation to all individuals, institutions, and partners who supported the school in organizing the programme. He reiterated the chief’s commitment to supporting education and appealed to residents of Toase and surrounding communities to rally behind the school’s library initiative.
The programme featured a variety of engaging performances by pupils, including cultural displays, poetry recitals, choreography, drama sketches, and songs that highlighted the beauty of Ghanaian culture and the talent of the learners. The highlight of the day was the presentation of prizes to outstanding pupils who excelled in academics, good behaviour, sports, and leadership. Several teachers were also acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to shaping the future of the children.
Parents who attended the ceremony expressed pride and excitement, describing the event as a timely reminder of the importance of investing in the education of young children. Many pledged their personal support toward the library project.
The 2025 edition of the Speech and Prize Giving Day at Toase St Peter’s R/C Primary ‘B’ has therefore been widely described as not only a celebration of achievement but also a call to action for all stakeholders to support the school’s drive toward improved infrastructure and quality education.

With the library project now underway, school authorities say they are confident that together with the community’s support, Toase St Peter’s R/C Primary ‘B’ will continue to shape promising young leaders who will contribute meaningfully to society in the years ahead.
