“Time to Heal Divisions” — Solomon Jabari Declares Atwima Kwanwoma NDC Chairmanship Candidacy
Solomon Jabari, Chairman of the NDC Island–City Branch in Kumasi, has officially declared his intention to contest the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2026 elections. The declaration was made on Sunday, December 28, at his residence at Ahenema Kokobeng, Island City, during the NDC Island–City end-of-year celebration, which drew party faithful, supporters, and notable regional leaders.

The program, full of energy and camaraderie, featured lively dancing, sumptuous meals, and heartfelt interactions among attendees. In a special gesture of appreciation, Mr. Jabari presented gifts to hardworking individuals across the various party branches who have contributed significantly, supported the party tirelessly, or made personal sacrifices throughout their political lives.

The gathering was graced by prominent figures, including the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Baah Acheamfour, and the Deputy Youth Organizer and Ashanti Regional National Service Secretariat (NSS) Director, Emmanuel Reagan Fynn, alongside other constituency executives and key party stakeholders.

Addressing the audience, Mr. Jabari emphasized the urgent need to restore peace, unity, and effective leadership within the constituency. “It is time to heal divisions that have weakened our party’s efforts and to work together to strengthen the NDC in Atwima Kwanwoma,” he said.

He reflected on the challenges of the 2024 general elections, noting that internal disagreements among constituency executives had hindered the party’s effectiveness. “My decision to contest this chairmanship stems from a deep desire to bring together all factions, reconcile differences, and ensure that every member feels included in the party’s growth and success,” he added.

Mr. Jabari also recognized the tireless efforts of women in the constituency, describing their contributions during elections as even more demanding than those of men. He pledged to acknowledge, reward, and involve women meaningfully in decision-making processes going forward.

All constituency executives present at the event warmly welcomed Mr. Jabari’s declaration, pledging their full support and commitment to vote for him in the upcoming election. Their endorsement underscores widespread confidence in his leadership and vision for the constituency.

In conclusion, Mr. Jabari called on all party members and supporters to remain disciplined, patient, and law-abiding, reminding them that the campaign season has not yet officially begun and that nominations will determine the formal start of the race.

Rooted in a message of unity, reconciliation, and inclusiveness, Solomon Jabari’s declaration signals a renewed drive to strengthen cohesion within the NDC in Atwima Kwanwoma, promising a future where every member feels valued, heard, and engaged in advancing the party’s mission.
