Throwing Away Your Culture Brings Suffering – Mama Anita of Aura Eagle Spiritual Center

The Founder of the Aura Eagle Spiritual Center at Kumasi-Abuakwa, Mama Anita, has issued a strong caution to Ghanaians, warning that abandoning their traditional values and cultural identity invites unnecessary struggles and misfortunes in life. She urged the public to uphold their indigenous customs, language, and spiritual beliefs as essential components of divine guidance and human fulfillment.

Speaking during a spiritual teaching session at her center, Mama Anita lamented how modern society has become detached from its cultural roots, choosing foreign ideologies over indigenous wisdom. She described this trend as spiritually dangerous, saying it weakens the moral and spiritual fabric that once kept families and communities strong.

According to her, the concept of the Holy Ghost in Christianity and the local term “Saman Kronkron” in Akan tradition are spiritually identical, despite linguistic differences. She explained that the word “Saman” originates from the local dialect and should not be mistaken for evil spirits, as it represents ancestral and divine presence in Ghanaian spirituality.

“The word Saman is not demonic as many people think. It simply means spirit. The Holy Ghost and Saman Kronkron refer to the same divine force, only that one is expressed in a foreign language and the other in our mother tongue. Both carry the same sacred power when invoked with faith,” she explained.

Mama Anita expressed disappointment that many Ghanaians, in their quest to appear religiously advanced, have turned their backs on their ancestral wisdom and practices. She described the rejection of cultural identity as a form of self-destruction that often leads to hardship, spiritual confusion, and broken families. “If you throw away your culture, you’re harming yourself. A person who abandons their roots will always struggle to find peace. Our traditions connect us to divine order, but many have replaced them with confusion and hypocrisy,” she stated.

Touching on family values, Mama Anita emphasized the importance of honoring and caring for parents, especially mothers. She cautioned that neglecting one’s parents invites misfortune, no matter how religious one may appear. She said that a parent’s blessing is more powerful than any prayer offered by pastors or prophets. “When your parents are alive, treat them well. Don’t let modern beliefs make you despise them. A mother’s prayer can unlock blessings that no pastor can give. If your mother suffers while you live in comfort, nature itself will punish you,” she warned.

She noted that many people unknowingly bring curses upon themselves by disregarding their elders and ancestors, insisting that there is divine justice for every good or evil deed done towards one’s parents. “Nature does not forgive those who neglect their parents. No pastor can break that punishment for you. If you live a luxurious life while your parents suffer, you are digging your own pit. Do the right thing because karma is real,” she added passionately.

Mama Anita also called for a revival of Ghanaian cultural pride, urging the youth to learn their traditions, respect elders, and preserve the wisdom passed down through generations. She emphasized that culture and spirituality are not enemies of religion, but rather complementary paths that lead to peace and success. “Culture is not witchcraft. It is who we are as a people. If we respect it, our lives will flourish. When we reject it, we lose our blessings and identity. Let us bring back the values that shaped our forefathers — respect, unity, and truth,” she appealed.

Her teachings have since sparked deep reflection among followers and community members, many of whom expressed appreciation for her courage in defending Ghana’s spiritual heritage and reminding society of the importance of cultural preservation.

Mama Anita concluded by calling on all Ghanaians to realign themselves with their roots and live in harmony with both ancestral wisdom and divine truth, saying, “Our destiny depends on how well we honor our culture, our parents, and our Creator.”
