Nana Yamoah Agyemang, the Principal of Tetrefu Technical Institute, has been officially enstooled as the Nifahene of the Asante Akyem Bompata Traditional Area, pledging to prioritize education, skills development, youth empowerment, and community progress in his new role.

The enstoolment ceremony, held in Asante Akyem Bompata, brought together chiefs, elders, family members, and residents from across the traditional area. Nana Yamoah Agyemang swore the oath of allegiance to the Paramount Chief, Nana Effah-Apenteng, affirming his commitment to serving the people and promoting sustainable development in the community.

Addressing the media in an interview, the new Nifahene highlighted the importance of education as a tool for transforming the community. He pledged to champion Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), stressing that equipping the youth with practical skills would reduce graduate unemployment and empower them to become self-reliant. He advised students, especially those in tertiary institutions, to remain disciplined, avoid alcohol and drug abuse, and dedicate themselves to hard work and skill acquisition.

Beyond education, Nana Yamoah Agyemang emphasized the need for economic development in the Bompata Traditional Area. He expressed his intention to collaborate with farmers and community groups to strengthen agriculture in the area, boost food production, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities. He encouraged unity among farmers and stakeholders to promote modern agricultural practices and ensure the area’s socio-economic growth.

The Nifahene also appealed to government and development partners to support technical institutions with modern tools, equipment, and resources, ensuring that youth in the area acquire the practical skills needed to thrive in various industries.

He further issued a stern warning to individuals involved in the importation and distribution of illicit drugs targeting young people, stressing that such activities threaten the lives and future of the nation’s next generation.

Nana Yamoah Agyemang concluded by reaffirming his commitment to working closely with traditional authorities, government agencies, farmers, and development partners to advance education, agriculture, and socio-economic development in Asante Akyem Bompata and the wider Asante Akim South District of the Ashanti Region.
