Original Daniel Laryea, was last weekend outdoored as the new youth chief for Teshie Gbugla in Ledzokuku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
The colourful ceremony brought together hundreds of people including traditional leaders and Kingmakers within Teshie and other surrounding communities.
The newly installed chief was charged to lead in the “fight” to make sure that all properties bequeathed to the people of Teshie by thier fore fathers are returned to them.
The Teshie community, according to Nii Martey Laryea, who represented the paramount Chief of Teshie Gbuglan, Nii Martey Odonko III, hinted that some of the challenges faced by the people of the area include litigation, Chieftancy throne as well as lack of other amenities.
He seized the opportunity to advice the newly installed chief to as a matter or urgency, form a committee whose leaders are credible, experienced and who will
amongs other responsibilities be tasked to resolve all disputes that separate the various families within the community so as to pave way for oneness and developmental projects to commence which in the end will inure to the benefit of all residents in the area.
In his address, Original Nii Martey Laryea I declared his readiness to ensure that all existing disputes were resolved amicably.
“Am very honoured to be appointed as the youth Chief of our beloved community and I want to assure that I will work hard with every member of the community for our own success” he disclosed.
He underscored the need for all and sundry to burry their differences and rally behind him for the development of the area.
Nii Amasa Okogyeabour, the Chief Priest of Teshie used the opportunity to thank the Security Personnels at the area for thier support towards ensuring a peaceful atmosphere within the community all these years and further urged them to continue thier good works while discharging their duties without fear or favour.
