An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday sentenced a teenage boy, Ishola Yusuf, to two years and three months in Borstal Correctional Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun for attempted theft.
The Chief Magistrate, Bola Osunsanmi sentenced the teenager to the Boys Correctional facility also known as Borstal Correctional Centre , Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The magistrate sentenced Yusuf to three months for scaling the fence and two years for attempting to steal.
She held that the sentence will run concurrently without an option of fine
“It will serve as a deterrent to others, ” she said.

Earlier ,the prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem told the court that the offence was committed on Nov. 28, 2022 at 20, Salumonu St., Agege, Lagos.
Akeem said that the convict was arraigned on Dec. 2, 2022 ,pleaded guilty and has been in the correctional facility since then.
Akeem said that the convict scaled the fence of Mr Ben Njoku’s house with intent to steal.
The prosecutor said that he was caught before committing the crime.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions Sections 168 and 406 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015
