The education directorate of Oforikrom Municipality in the Ashanti Region are allegedly planning an overhaul transfer of the entire teaching staff of Kotei R/C JHS after a parent of a student in the school, reported them to the authorities for alleged misconduct.
The teachers have vehemently denied the allegations levelled against them and have vowed to clear themselves.
The affected teachers numbering about14 claim that their pending transfer is borne out of their refusal to write an apology letter after they had been accused by the said parent.
One of the affected teachers who spoke on condition of anynomity said the directorate set up a committee and found them not guilty of a charge the parent brought against them.
He added that their resolve not to write the undeserving apology letter as being demanded has made the directorate decide to take the unfair decision against them.
Meanwhile, when Oyerepa FM’s Wofa Atta Frimpong went to the Municipal Education office at Susanso, to ascertain the truth of the matter, contrary to the teachers’ claim that the committee found them of no misconduct, Madam Doris Opare Addo, the Municipal Education Director declined to talk about the issue.
She said, the issue is still with a committee.
