Tanoso Anglican”C” primary school Kwadaso municipality worn the first ever inter-schools on school health club basically on Corona Virus Quiz Competition organised by the Ashanti Regional Health directorate sponsored by UNICEF in kumasi on Wednesday, 27 July 2022.
Yusifiya primary School in the Asokore-Mampong municipality came second in the keenly contested three rounds competition while New Amakom primary “A” in kumasi took the third position.
For their prize, both the three schools that took part in the competition received a cash, school bags, set of books, pens, hand sanitizers, face masks and Veronica buckets.
Addressing the participants after the competition at NAT Hall, Dr Emmanuel Tenkorang, Ashanti Regional Health Director, urged the students to take their studies seriously so that the huge investment on them by their parents and the government would be beneficial to them. Nana Owusu Annor, he indicated that education was the only legacy parents could bequeath to their children in this present era of development.
Dr Tenkorang expressed regret that many people refuse to take the Covid 19 vaccination, even though it was free of charge. He advised persons who experienced Covid 19 symptoms to report at the hospital for advice.
Madam Charity Nikoi who is the leader of UNICEF in Ghana and in-charge of social behavior communication pledge continue support for Ghana health service so far as health is concern. She then urge the Students to take their study serious and refrain from bad habit and social vices so that their support will not be in vein. Meanwhile JHS who took part of the competition also received the same prize.
