Suspect in Akutunya Stabbing Murder Found Butchered, Police Hunt for Perpetrators

In a shocking twist of events, the suspect who allegedly stabbed and killed Teye Emmanuel, a spot operator at Akutunya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region, has also been brutally murdered. The suspect, whose name has yet to be released by authorities, was reportedly found butchered by unknown individuals. Police are currently searching for the perpetrators responsible for this second murder.

The tragic sequence of events began when Teye Emmanuel was fatally stabbed in what witnesses described as a violent altercation. Emmanuel, a popular operator of a drinking spot in the Akutunya suburb, was attacked and killed under unclear circumstances, sending shockwaves through the community.

Before the suspect could be brought to justice, he too became a victim of a violent attack. His body was found with multiple wounds, raising fears of retaliatory killings. The police have launched a manhunt for the individuals responsible for the suspect’s murder, while they continue to investigate the circumstances leading to Teye Emmanuel’s death.

Speaking on the incident, Austin Ofori Addo of Rite FM in Somanya called for calm as the police intensify their search for the culprits. “This is a tragic development, and the community is understandably on edge. We urge everyone to remain calm as the police conduct their investigations,” he said.

Residents of Akutunya and the surrounding areas have expressed shock and fear, with many calling for increased security presence to prevent further escalation of violence. Authorities have yet to confirm whether the two killings are directly linked, but community members suspect the second murder was in retaliation for Teye Emmanuel’s death.

The police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the murders to come forward and assist in their investigations.
