Sunyani: SDA, Muslims worship together

As part of efforts to promote inter-religious harmony and peace in the Penkwase District of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church and the some muslims in the Sunyani municipality have held a joint church service at Penkwase.

The service brought together worshippers from the muslim community and the Adventist faith to share the word of God.

Pastor Peter Oscar Nsiah, Penkwase District Pastor of the SDA church told in an interview with the media after the service said, it was important for Christians and Muslims to have good relationships in their communities.

He said though they had different beliefs, Christians and Muslims had a common goal, which was to have a peaceful rest with their creator in eternity.

Pastor Nsiah observed that, the occasion was made memorable when all the Adventists wore Muslim attire while the Muslims were given copies of the Holy Bible.

The church also donated rice, sardines amongst others and an undisclosed amount of money to the aged and widowed muslim women after the service.

The representative of the Imam, Mohammed Is- aaq who led the team, recounted how members of the SDA church had been generous to Muslims in the community.

He said, it has become necessary for religious bodies to set aside their differences and unite since they are one people.

He pledged to work together to promote peace and harmony among members of the two religion in the area.
