The Member of Parliament for the Suame Constituency, John Darko, has provided logistics valued at GH¢500,000 to several institutions within the Suame Municipality and awarded scholarships to 34 students, in a significant effort to strengthen service delivery and expand access to education in the constituency.

The intervention follows a series of monitoring visits by the MP to key public institutions, during which management and staff outlined pressing logistical and operational challenges affecting their efficiency. In response, Hon. Darko mobilised resources to address the most urgent needs, emphasising that as the elected representative of the people, it is his responsibility to ensure that institutions within the constituency are adequately equipped to function at their full capacity.

The items distributed include laptops, desktop computers, refrigerators, air conditioners, projectors, rechargeable fans, 500 sets of tables and chairs, a motorbike, wheelchairs, and sewing machines, among others. Beneficiary institutions span the education and health sectors, the Ghana National Fire Service, the Disability Union, and the Seamstress Union within the municipality.

According to the MP, strengthening institutional capacity remains a key pillar of his development agenda for Suame. He explained that providing essential logistics will not only improve productivity but also enhance the ability of public servants and community-based organisations to deliver quality and timely services to residents.

Beyond institutional support, Hon. Darko awarded scholarships to 34 students from the constituency to enable them to further their education. He described investment in human capital as critical to the long-term socio-economic development of Suame, stressing that education remains one of the most sustainable pathways to community transformation and empowerment.

“I see it as my duty to ensure that my constituents receive the best support possible. When our institutions are well-resourced and our young people are given the opportunity to pursue higher education, the entire municipality benefits,” he stated.

He urged all beneficiary institutions and individuals to make prudent use of the items provided, noting that proper maintenance and accountability would ensure long-term impact and value for the constituency.

Some beneficiaries, particularly members of the Seamstress Union who received sewing machines, expressed profound appreciation to the MP for what they described as timely and life-changing support. They indicated that the equipment would significantly enhance their productivity and income-generating capacity.

The GH¢500,000 logistics intervention forms part of Hon. John Kofi Darko’s broader commitment to inclusive development, improved public service delivery, and sustainable progress across the Suame Constituency.
