Solomon Jabari, the Chairman of the NDC Island–City Branch in Kumasi, has officially declared his intention to contest the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2026 elections. The announcement was made on Sunday, December 28, at his residence at Ahenema Kokobeng, Island City, during the NDC Island–City end-of-year celebration, which drew party faithful, supporters, and notable regional figures.

The program, characterized by an atmosphere of festivity, featured lively dancing, sumptuous meals, and heartfelt interactions among attendees. During the event, Mr. Jabari also presented gifts to individuals across the party’s branches who have worked diligently, contributed significantly, or made personal sacrifices for the party, recognizing their unwavering dedication and lifelong commitment.

Reflecting on the 2024 general elections, he noted that internal divisions among constituency executives weakened the party’s effectiveness and hindered its performance. He promised that, following the celebrations, he would personally engage with all Branch Chairmen and Coordinators to better understand the challenges faced and assess the state of the party across the constituency.
