Solomon Jabari Calls for Unity, Recognition of Women as He Declares Atwima Kwanwoma NDC Chairmanship Bid”
Solomon Jabari, Chairman of the NDC Island–City Branch in Kumasi, has officially declared his intention to contest the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the lead-up to the 2026 elections. The declaration was made on Sunday, December 28, at his residence at Ahenema Kokobeng, Island City, during the NDC Island–City end-of-year celebration, which attracted party faithful, supporters, and prominent regional figures.

The celebration was lively and engaging, featuring spirited dancing, shared meals, and a festive atmosphere that reflected camaraderie among attendees. As part of the program, Mr. Jabari presented gifts to individuals across the constituency’s branches who have demonstrated dedication, contributed their quota, or made personal sacrifices for the party over the years, honoring their lifelong commitment.

The gathering was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Baah Acheamfour, and the Deputy Youth Organizer and Ashanti Regional National Service Secretariat (NSS) Director, Emmanuel Reagan Fynn, alongside other constituency executives and key party stakeholders.

Addressing the audience, Mr. Jabari emphasized the urgent need for unity within the constituency, highlighting the challenges faced during the 2024 general elections due to internal divisions. “Our party is strongest when we work together,” he said. “It is time to heal divisions, foster cohesion, and ensure that every member, regardless of gender or branch, feels included and valued.”

A significant aspect of his vision is the recognition and empowerment of women within the party. Mr. Jabari acknowledged the tireless efforts of women, particularly during election periods, noting that their contributions often surpass those of men. He pledged to create opportunities for women to have a stronger voice in decision-making and to reward their dedication and sacrifices meaningfully.

The declaration was met with widespread support from all constituency executives, who warmly welcomed his candidacy and pledged their full backing, promising to vote for him during the upcoming election. This endorsement reflects growing confidence in Mr. Jabari’s leadership and his commitment to fostering inclusiveness and collaboration within the NDC.

Mr. Jabari also pledged to engage all Branch Chairmen and Coordinators in the constituency shortly after the celebrations to better understand their challenges and assess the true state of the party, ensuring that every member’s concerns are addressed.

In his closing remarks, he urged party members and supporters to remain calm, disciplined, and law-abiding, reminding them that the campaign season has not yet officially begun and that nominations will formally open the race.

Rooted in a message of unity, peace, and inclusiveness, Solomon Jabari’s declaration signals a renewed drive to strengthen the NDC in Atwima Kwanwoma. His vision promises a party where every member, particularly women, feels valued, engaged, and empowered to contribute to the constituency’s growth and success.
