Shirley Kyei Expresses Gratitude to Church Community for Electoral Support, Seeks Prayers for Leadership

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South, Hon. Shirley Kyei, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to selected churches within her constituency to express appreciation to the Christian community and to seek continued prayers for wisdom and effective leadership.

The church tour formed part of the MP’s thanksgiving activities aimed at acknowledging God’s guidance, protection, and mercies since she assumed office. Hon. Kyei thanked God for the lives of her constituents, party executives, and all individuals who have supported her work in Parliament.

Speaking at the Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), Nkawie Central, the MP expressed profound gratitude to the church leadership and congregants for their endorsement and prayers during the last general elections. She acknowledged that the spiritual support she received from the church played a vital role in her electoral success and continues to strengthen her leadership journey.

Hon. Shirley Kyei also reflected on the outcome of the 2024 general elections, noting that although she had hoped the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would retain political power, the results turned out differently. She, however, encouraged constituents to remain united and hopeful, expressing confidence that with sustained support and prayers, the party could be returned to power in the 2028 general elections.

The MP further appealed to residents of Atwima Nwabiagya South to continue supporting her leadership, assuring them of her dedication to serving with integrity, accountability, and a strong focus on development and the welfare of the people.

The Circuit Pastor of the church, Reverend Humphrey Assafuah, led the congregation in special prayers for Hon. Shirley Kyei, constituency executives, and party faithful. The prayers sought divine wisdom, guidance, protection, and strength to enable the MP to excel in her parliamentary responsibilities.

The church community reaffirmed its spiritual support for the MP and pledged continued prayers for peace, unity, and progress within the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency.
