Sexy Pastor Restrained: As Kumasi High Court Halts His Unlawful Presidential Bid To Impose Himself On Congregation

In a landmark decision aimed at upholding the truth and protecting the integrity of the larlcongregation the Kumasi High on Thursday December 18,2025 delivered a decisive ruling to restrain a Pastor Akwasi Addai Macaiah popularly known as Sexy Pastor, from using presidential titles to manage the Association of the 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies in Kumasi.

The court’s verdict indicates that the truth cannot be hidden irrespective of the influence or power that possessed by individuals.

The dramatic courtroom proceedings on Thursday December 18 presided over by His Lordship Justice Dr. Poku Adusei sitting as an Additional High Court Judge declared it as null and void Pastor Akwasi Addai’s previous attempts to assume the position of President of the Association of the 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies following the death of the Association’s President and Founder Elder Enoch Ofori Snr.

The judge’s ruling cited Pastor Akwasi Addai’s involvement in conducting unlawful elections as the basis for his disqualification that deemed his self declared presidency and imposition on the congregation.

The long standing dispute within the church saw Akwasi Addai, the defendant who was challenged by an elder of the Assembly and two other plaintiffs.

During the judgement process, Akwasi Addai’s inability to answer over 90 percent of the questions posed by Justice Dr. Poku Adusei reportedly stunned the court audience apparently to create the suspicion that the man of God cleahardly prepared or perhaps has no legitimate claims.

With such development that became palpable clear to Akwasi Addai Macaiah and his Solicitors that they were fighting a losing battle Justice Dr Poku Adusei went ahead to concluded his judgement.

To ensure transparency and fairness Justice Dr. Poku Adusei issued clear directives.

Akwasi Addai was explicitly restrained from holding himself out as a President, Acting President, or any form of leadership role within the Association of the 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies.

In a move to facilitate the smooth running of the church during this transitional period the court appointed two church members, Elder Yaw Fosuhene from the plaintiff’s side and Elder Akwasi Acheamong from the defendant’s side as temporary managers.

The two appointed church members are tasked with the responsibilities to oversee the church affairs for a period of six months until lawful elections would be conducted under the supervision of the Ashanti Regional Electoral Commission.

The Electoral Commission has been granted full mandate to liaise with the church and ensure the conduct of free and fair elections.

Furthermore the Commission has also been authorized by the High Court to determine the costs and expenditures associated with the electoral process.

With the court orders the elections expenses will be shared equally – 50 percent each between the two factions, represented by Akwasi Addai and Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr.

The court also stipulated that immediately after the elections the victorious president should be sworn in to assume office without delay.

It was noted that the verdict was very transparent to the parties involved and the need to smoke peace pipe to continue the Ministry.

Justice Dr. Poku Adusei issued a stern warning. He stated unequivocally that the court would not hesitate to deal with any individual, church member, or a group who would acts contrary to the law and assured that justice would be dispensed without fear or favour.

This ruling comes in the wake of a previous incident where Pastor Akwasi Addai was reported to have married a church member’s wife.

After snatching the wife Mr Kofi Adjei the husband surmoned Pastor Akwasi Addai to the Manhyia Palace where he was found guilty and made to pay Ghc 25,000.00 compensation to Adjei where Addai without question readily paid to set himself free

by his Solicitors led by Kwame Assiedu Basoah Esq,with Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr plaintiff ‘s lawyers led by Charles Agbenu also were also present on the fateful Thursday of the judgement.

The court’s current decision further solidifies the pursuit of accountability and adherence to established norms, even within religious organizations.
