“Serve with Integrity, Reject Corruption” – Ahafo Ano North MCE Charges Immigration Recruits at Tepa Parade

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ahafo Ano North, Hon. Akwasi Adusei, has issued a powerful charge to newly recruited officers of the Ghana Immigration Service, urging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity and discipline as they begin their service to the nation.

Speaking at the passing-out ceremony held at the Mid-Country Immigration Training School in Tepa, Hon. Adusei cautioned the fresh graduates against engaging in bribery and corruption, describing such acts as dangerous to both personal progress and national development.

“You must desist from bribery and corruption. If you engage in such acts, you are not only destroying your own future but also endangering the stability and the image of this great nation,” he stated.

The MCE emphasized that the Ghana Immigration Service is one of the frontline institutions entrusted with national security, and as such, its officers must conduct themselves with honour, vigilance, and patriotism at all times. He urged the newly passed-out recruits to wear their uniforms with pride, professionalism, and responsibility.

“You now wear the uniform of the Republic. Let it remind you daily that you are to serve with integrity, protect our borders, and uphold the laws of the land without fear or favour,” Hon. Adusei added.

He congratulated the officers for enduring the rigours of training and successfully graduating, describing their achievement as a significant milestone not only in their lives but also in the strengthening of Ghana’s security architecture.

Hon. Adusei also used the opportunity to reaffirm government’s commitment to supporting the security services with logistics, training facilities, and improved conditions of service. He called on the new officers to reciprocate these efforts by becoming shining examples of discipline, honesty, and dedication.

“As a government, we continue to invest in the security sector because we believe a safe and secure nation is the bedrock of development. We expect you to be worthy ambassadors of this vision,” he said.

The passing-out ceremony at the Mid-Country Immigration Training School was marked by military-style drills, precision parades, and the formal induction of hundreds of recruits into the Ghana Immigration Service. The occasion attracted senior GIS officials, traditional leaders, local authorities, and families of the graduating officers, all of whom gathered to celebrate the achievements of the new officers.

The Mid-Country Training School in Tepa has established itself as a key institution in preparing young men and women for service in border protection, migration management, and internal security. The graduation of these recruits comes at a time when the country is intensifying efforts to strengthen its borders and combat illegal migration and transnational crimes.
