Sefwi Bekwai: Chiefs rise to fight rampant spiritual killings

Traditional authorities at Sefwi Bekwai in the Western North Region have called an emergency meeting to adopt strategies that will end the numerous spiritual killings that have bedeviled the community.

A few days ago, the body of a headless woman was discovered in the community.

It is widely alleged that the lady, believed to be in her thirties, was killed by unknown faces for spiritual purposes.

There have been several of such mysterious deaths in the area but the killers are yet to be discovered.

Connect FM’s Western North Correspondent, Kwamena Fynn, who attended the meeting told Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, the host of Omanbapa morning show, that the traditional authorities have placed a ransom on anyone who will provide information that will lead to the arrest of the killers.

Queen mother of Sefwi Bekwai Nana Abena Aniwaa II indicates that the time has come for all to combine forces and bring an end to the rampant spiritual killings in the community once and for all.

“I’m very sad over the happenings in this community. These spiritual killings have happened over and over again but this time around, we will not sit aloof for the killers to continue taking the lives of innocent persons.

“We don’t know what these killers want, we don’t know why they are killing people just to make money. Let’s all rise to fight these spiritual killings once and for all,” she indicated.

President of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Council Katakyie Afful promised that they would do everything within their powers to fight the killers boot for boot.

“The bad image associated with Sefwi Bekwai is gradually getting out of hand. We are bringing some youth together to serve as a watchdog. We shall officially introduce them to the Police Commander to enable them to operate within the remits of the laws. We shall not make their identities known to anyone. We shall empower them to arrest anyone with suspicious behavior in the community,” he added.
