On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, showed commendable leadership and humanity when she came across a road accident on the busy Koforidua–Adukrom highway while traveling to an official engagement at Odumase Krobo.
The accident occurred at Mile 44, a key junction linking several major towns in the Eastern Region. The vehicle involved was a Toyota Hiace minibus with registration number GT 5160-17, traveling from Ashaiman to Koforidua.
