A deadly altercation between two rivals in Kekekope, a small town in the Afram Plains North Municipal District of the Eastern Region, has led to the tragic death of a woman. The incident, which occurred on March 10, 2025, has shocked the local community.
According to Osofoba Enock, who reported the devastating incident to Salt News, the violent clash began when one rival grabbed the other by the hand and neck. Although the victim did not die immediately from the assault, she was rushed to Donkorkrom Presby Hospital for medical care.
On the way to the hospital, tragedy struck during the boat journey across the Afram River. A heavy tide caused the boat to capsize, throwing the victim into the fast-moving waters. Despite the best efforts to save her, the victim was swept away by the strong current.
Her lifeless body was later discovered today in Alavanyo, located in the Volta Region, more than a week after the tragedy. The discovery has left the community in mourning, and questions are being raised about the safety of river transport in the area.
Osofoba Enock, who has been closely following the story, will be providing additional insights and updates on this unfortunate incident in the following live segment.
