Dear Sir/Madam,
REQUEST FOR COLLABORATION FOR FEMALE TALENTS IN CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
The Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service presents its warm compliments to your esteemed office.
The Directorate is currently coordinating the implementation of the Female Talents in Construction Project, an initiative by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) under the Special Initiative “Decent Work for a Just Transition”, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The initiative operates under the brand “Invest for Jobs”, which promotes enterprise growth and job creation in Ghana through strategic partnerships across the public and private sectors.
As part of this intervention, the project seeks to empower 100 young people (aged 15–24 years) through a six-month structured training programme, comprising eight (8) weeks of classroom-based training and sixteen (16) weeks of industry-based learning. This programme aims to enhance gender inclusion, employability, and job linkages within Ghana’s construction industry by connecting beneficiaries to apprenticeship opportunities, job placements, and self-employment pathways through collaborations with construction firms and industry associations.
The construction trade areas include:
1. Masonry and Concrete Works
2. Carpentry (Site Work)
3. Furniture and Joinery Production
4. Electrical Installation
5. Plumbing
6. Welding and Fabrication
7. Tiling
In view of the above, the Ashanti Regional TVET Directorate humbly seeks your kind support in accepting trainees under the Female Talents in Construction Project for their Workplace Experience Learning (WEL).
Your institution’s collaboration will provide these young women with invaluable hands-on industry experience, mentorship, and exposure to real-world work environments. This partnership will further strengthen the link between training and employment, ensuring that the project achieves its goal of enhancing female participation and employability within Ghana’s construction sector.
We look forward to your kind support and collaboration in advancing this transformative initiative.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
(SIGNED)
