In a touching display of compassion and leadership, Oheneyere Adoma Akosua II, the Queen Mother of Nkawie Kumaa, has celebrated her one-year anniversary on the stool by donating over 100 pieces of clothing to vulnerable members of her community.
The donation exercise formed the highlight of her anniversary celebration, which brought together traditional leaders, community members, and the beneficiaries themselves at the Nkawie Kumaa palace. The Queen Mother’s gesture was met with cheers and heartfelt appreciation from recipients, many of whom said the items would go a long way in easing their burdens.
Speaking at the event, Oheneyere Adoma Akosua II called for unity among her people, stressing that development can only be achieved through collective effort and mutual respect.
“We have come a long way together, and I believe the future of Nkawie Kumaa is bright if we remain united,” she said. “This donation is just a small way of showing my love and responsibility toward those in need. I will continue to support initiatives that uplift the lives of our people.”
The donation included clothing for men, women, and children, carefully selected to meet the immediate needs of the less privileged in the community.
Many beneficiaries were overwhelmed with emotion, describing the Queen Mother as a beacon of hope. “She has done what many in her position would not think of. We are grateful to her,” said Kwabena Owusu, a resident and recipient.
Oheneyere Adoma Akosua II has been widely praised for her proactive and people-centered approach to leadership over the past year. Her efforts in supporting the vulnerable and advocating for development have set a strong example for other traditional leaders.
As Nkawie Kumaa reflects on her first year of service, many residents believe her reign will continue to bring positive transformation, unity, and social progress to the community.
