PWDs in Atwima Kwanwoma Receive Fufu Machines, Freezers, and More in Empowerment Drive

The Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly has taken a significant step toward promoting economic empowerment and social inclusion for Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) in the district. Through the leadership of the District Chief Executive (DCE) and in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, the Assembly recently presented a wide range of livelihood-enhancing equipment to beneficiaries in the district.
The initiative, aimed at providing practical tools to improve the standard of living for PWDs, saw recipients receiving fufu-pounding machines, block-making machines, industrial sewing machines, deep freezers, and other vocationally tailored equipment. These resources are expected to support the beneficiaries in generating sustainable income and achieving greater self-reliance.

Speaking at the presentation, the DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for all residents. He emphasized that empowering vulnerable groups, particularly PWDs, remains a top priority for the local government, underscoring the Assembly’s dedication to fostering an inclusive and economically vibrant community.

Hon. Peter Gyau, the Social Services Convener of the Assembly, praised the determination of the beneficiaries and encouraged them to make efficient and productive use of the equipment. He highlighted that the Assembly’s investment in PWDs is a strategic move toward building a self-reliant district and urged community members to extend support and encouragement to the beneficiaries to ensure the sustainability of their ventures.

The beneficiaries, in turn, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Assembly for the thoughtful gesture, pledging to utilize the equipment effectively to improve their livelihoods and contribute positively to the community.

This empowerment drive by the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly reflects a growing commitment to social development, economic inclusion, and the creation of opportunities for all residents, ensuring that no group is left behind in the district’s progress.
