PWDs Express Gratitude as Assembly Delivers Essential Livelihood Equipment

The Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly has once again demonstrated its commitment to social inclusion and economic empowerment by providing essential livelihood equipment to Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) in the district. This initiative, coordinated through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, is part of the Assembly’s ongoing efforts to equip vulnerable residents with tools to improve their livelihoods and achieve financial independence.

Beneficiaries of the program received a variety of vocational equipment, including fufu-pounding machines, block-making machines, industrial sewing machines, deep freezers, and other practical tools specifically tailored to meet their individual business needs. The gesture is aimed at enabling PWDs to engage in productive economic activities, enhance their income-generating capacity, and improve their overall quality of life.

Speaking at the presentation, the District Chief Executive (DCE) reaffirmed the Assembly’s dedication to promoting equal opportunities for all residents. He highlighted that empowering vulnerable groups, such as PWDs, is a central pillar of the Assembly’s social development agenda and stressed the importance of providing practical support that creates sustainable livelihoods.

Hon. Peter Gyau, the Social Services Convener of the Assembly, lauded the resilience and determination of the beneficiaries, encouraging them to make optimal use of the equipment. He also urged community members to support and mentor the beneficiaries in their respective ventures, noting that collective support is vital for the success and sustainability of livelihood projects.

The beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to the Assembly for the intervention, pledging to utilize the equipment effectively to boost their businesses and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the district.

This initiative reflects the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly’s unwavering commitment to fostering inclusion, dignity, and self-reliance among PWDs, ensuring that all residents have the opportunity to participate actively in the district’s economic growth.
