Pru West MP Urges Population Management in Ghana

The Member of Parliament for Pru West, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Ntekuni, has called on Ghanaians to prioritize population management on World Population Day.

Speaking to the media, Hon. Ntekuni emphasized the need for effective population management strategies to address the challenges posed by a growing population.

He urged the Minister for Gender to improve and expand the school feeding program to encourage children to attend school instead of accompanying their parents to farms.

According to Hon. Ntekuni, his constituency faces significant challenges, including limited access to portable water, inadequate education infrastructure, and high unemployment rates, particularly among the youth.

He also highlighted the high rate of teenage pregnancy and unwanted pregnancies in his constituency, attributing these issues to unemployment and lack of opportunities for young people to plan their lives.

Hon. Ntekuni stressed that population management is crucial for Ghana’s development and urged all stakeholders to take proactive steps to address these challenges.

He continued to emphasize that Africa is made up About 1.4billion people which translates to 19 % making Africans a lot as Compared to the other Continents .Ghanaians Contribute to About 0.45% of the 19% as whole .

Hon. Emmanuel Concluded by saying According to research, the rate at which Africans reproduces is a lot higher and larger than that of Erupeans .And that by 2050, the worlds population would have Amounted to 9.9billion ..
