Pru East MP Questions Road Minister on Diverted Road Issues

The Member of Parliament for Pru East, Hon. Emmanuel Kweku Buam, has raised concerns about road issues in his constituency during a session on the floor of Parliament.

Hon. Buam revealed that a transition stretch between Atebubu has diverted the main road by about 20 meters due to transit movement from Atebubu to Yeji.

This diversion has led to the use of an alternative route via the Kintampo stretch, Abaase, and Prine.

He asked the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza, if he is aware of the damages affecting the Atebubu-Yeji Bridge area.

Hon. Buam pleaded for the issue to be considered and addressed as part of immediate plans to fix the road.

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza responded to the questions raised.

He stated that routine maintenance is scheduled for this year. However, the extent of further works will depend on the scope of the damages described by the Pru East MP.

The Minister added that additional works will be carried out based on the facts available to his department.

The Road Minister further noted that the Yeji road is part of the Inter-Regional Road (IR04), specifically Road 103.5 km, which stretches from Amatin to Yeji.

This road traverses through the Amatin-Atebubu Municipality, Pru West, and Pru East districts.
