The Student Representative Council (SRC) of Prince of Peace Girls’ Senior High School has successfully concluded its annual week-long celebration, Festum Pacis ’26, with a spectacular grand finale that saw Fortune Anambanga, a Form Two General Arts 3 student, crowned winner of the school’s beauty pageant.

The celebration, held on the school’s campus in Kumasi, was a vibrant showcase of student talent, camaraderie, philanthropy and cultural expression. The week-long programme received sponsorship support from Washington View Hospital and Promasidor, whose contributions ensured a seamless and memorable series of activities.

Addressing students and staff ahead of the official launch on Wednesday, February 25, the Headmistress, Mrs. Mary-Juliet Antwi Kyeremeh, expressed gratitude to God for His continued guidance and protection over the school community. She commended the SRC for its dedication and meticulous planning, urging students to actively engage in the celebration while upholding discipline and the values of the school.

Festum Pacis ’26 commenced with a lively float, followed by a Candle Night and bonfire session, setting a reflective yet celebratory tone for the week. Among the highlights was a “mothers-and-daughters” cooking competition, which saw female teachers and students display their culinary skills in a friendly contest designed to foster teamwork and mutual respect. The day’s activities concluded with a movie show in the evening.

In keeping with the school’s commitment to social responsibility, the SRC led a philanthropic outreach to a local orphanage, donating essential items to support the children. The programme also included recreational games, health screenings, and an educational health talk, emphasizing the importance of wellness and community service.

Friday night’s “Old School Night” offered a nostalgic experience as students took teachers on a journey through past musical and fashion eras, creating moments of reflection and enjoyment that deepened the bond between staff and students.

The grand finale on Saturday featured drama performances, dynamic dance displays, and the presentation of meritorious awards to deserving students. The crowning moment of the week came during the beauty pageant, where Fortune Anambanga impressed the judges with her confidence, eloquence, poise, and overall presentation, earning her the coveted title.

Festum Pacis ’26 not only highlighted the vibrancy and creativity of Prince of Peace Girls’ SHS students but also reinforced the school’s dedication to holistic education, leadership development, and community engagement. The celebration served as a testament to the SRC’s commitment to nurturing talents, promoting philanthropy, and fostering a culture of unity within the school.
