The Student Representative Council (SRC) of Prince of Peace Girls’ Senior High School has successfully organised its annual week celebration, Festum Pacis ’26, marked by vibrant cultural exhibitions, philanthropy and student-led initiatives aimed at promoting unity and holistic development.
The colourful celebration, held on the school’s campus in Kumasi, brought together students, teachers and invited guests in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and solidarity. The event received sponsorship support from Washington View Hospital and Promasidor, whose contributions ensured a well-coordinated and impactful programme.

Addressing a durbar of students and staff prior to the commencement of activities on Wednesday, February 25, the Headmistress, Mrs. Mary-Juliet Antwi Kyeremeh, expressed gratitude to God for His continued protection over the school community. She commended the SRC for its initiative and organisational effort, urging students to actively participate in the celebration while upholding discipline and the core values of the institution.

The week-long programme commenced with a colourful float through selected routes, followed by a solemn Candle Night and a lively bonfire session. These opening activities set a reflective yet celebratory tone for the events that unfolded throughout the week.
A major highlight of Festum Pacis ’26 was a friendly “mothers-and-daughters” cooking competition, during which female teachers and students showcased their culinary skills in a spirited contest that strengthened bonds and fostered mutual appreciation. The day’s activities concluded with a movie show, further enhancing the sense of togetherness within the school community.

In line with the school’s commitment to social responsibility, authorities and students embarked on a philanthropic outreach to an orphanage, where assorted items were donated to support the children. The outreach programme also featured recreational games, health screening and an educational health talk, underscoring the importance of community service and wellness awareness.
On Friday night, students treated their teachers to an “Old School Night,” a nostalgic event that revisited past musical and fashion eras. The programme created moments of reflection and joy, deepening intergenerational connections and celebrating shared memories.

The celebration climaxed on Saturday with a grand finale featuring drama performances, energetic dance displays and the presentation of meritorious awards to deserving students. The event was crowned with a beauty pageant, which showcased the confidence, eloquence and poise of participating contestants, further highlighting the diverse talents within the school.

Festum Pacis ’26 once again reaffirmed Prince of Peace Girls’ Senior High School’s commitment to academic excellence, character formation and community engagement, while empowering students to develop leadership skills and creative talents beyond the classroom.
