President Mahama’s Nkokonkitinkiti Initiative Takes Off in Bosome Freho as DCE Leads Rollout at Anumso

The Bosome Freho District has warmly applauded President John Dramani Mahama for his visionary leadership following the successful launch of the Nkokonkitinkiti poultry initiative at Anumso in the Ashanti Region.
The programme, designed to create sustainable jobs in agriculture and reduce Ghana’s dependence on imported frozen chicken, was expertly rolled out by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Charles Appiah Kubi, demonstrating the district’s commitment to effective grassroots development.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Appiah Kubi described the initiative as a clear reflection of the government’s dedication to social interventions and household economic empowerment. “This project brings poultry production directly to the doorsteps of Ghanaians, transforming subsistence activities into self-sustaining livelihoods and strengthening national food security,” he stated.
The pilot phase targeted the first batch of registered beneficiaries, each receiving 40 birds and starter supplies to launch their poultry businesses. Hon. Appiah Kubi emphasized that the initiative would empower households, create jobs, and stimulate local economic activities while ensuring the sustainability of the poultry sector.

The Adontehene of Anumso, Nana Adu, expressed profound gratitude to President Mahama and commended the Bosome Freho District Assembly for their proactive role in implementing the project. He described the initiative as timely, transformative, and vital for improving the livelihoods of residents.

Among the beneficiaries, Mr. Yaw Asare, the NDC Youth Organiser for the area, encouraged young Ghanaians to embrace government programmes like Nkokonkitinkiti, urging them to focus on the opportunities provided rather than politicizing the initiative. Other beneficiaries also pledged to utilize the support effectively to strengthen their economic standing.

The launch of Nkokonkitinkiti at Anumso reinforces President Mahama’s commitment to inclusive governance, showcases the dynamic leadership of Hon. Charles Appiah Kubi, and highlights the Bosome Freho District Assembly’s dedication to empowering communities. The initiative is set to expand to more households across the district, creating jobs, boosting poultry production, and contributing meaningfully to both local and national economic growth.
