Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Victory Congregation Marks 40th Anniversary with Week-Long Celebration

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Victory Congregation at Compound in Dunkwa-On-Offin is set to celebrate its 40th Anniversary with a series of impactful and spirit-filled activities starting from Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
The week-long celebration is expected to attract both church members and dignitaries from all walks of life, as the congregation reflects on four decades of spiritual growth, community service, and national development.
Activities will kick off on Wednesday, July 2 at 7:00 PM at the church premises with an opening service that will set the tone for the rest of the anniversary events. Distinguished guests scheduled to grace the occasion include Madam Patience Larko Lartey, Headmistress of Dunkwa Secondary Technical Senior High School; Rev. Peterking Owusu Arthur, Dunkwa District Minister; Oheneba Kojo Sarfo, a prominent traditional leader and Elder of the church; and Catechist Agyekum Antwi.
As part of the celebration, Thursday, July 3, will feature a night of musical entertainment, bringing together the church’s choir, youth groups, and guest gospel artists to lift hearts in praise and worship.
Friday has been set aside for prayers, as the congregation comes together in solemn communion to thank God for His grace and seek guidance for the years ahead.
On Saturday, the church will undertake a clean-up exercise across selected areas in Dunkwa, reinforcing its commitment to environmental cleanliness and community service. This will be followed by a free health screening at the church premises, an initiative aimed at promoting the well-being of members and residents in the area.
The climax of the 40th Anniversary celebration will be a grand Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, July 6, 2025, where the entire church and invited guests will gather to honour God for His goodness over the past 40 years.
Dignitaries expected to attend the final thanksgiving service include the Dunkwahene, Okoforubour Dr. Obeng Nuako III, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. George Anane Coleman, and Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East, Hon. Emelia Ankomah.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Minister-in-Charge, Rev. Ernest Pipim, emphasized the role the Presbyterian Church has played in national development, particularly in the fields of education, health, and social services. “The church has not only been a beacon of spiritual growth but also a force for social transformation. We therefore invite everyone—members, former congregants, and the general public—to join us in celebrating this significant milestone,” he stated.
The 40th Anniversary of the Victory Congregation promises to be a memorable celebration of faith, fellowship, and service.
