Popular Businessman Installed As Chief Of Kumasi Pampaso

A Kumasi based renowned businessman Mr Michael Adabor Yaboah has been installed as a new chief of Kumasi Pampaso over the weekend.

Under his stool name, the businesses man is now known as Nana Gyamfi Kumanin Williamm III.

At a swearing in ceremony held at the Manhyia Palace, sub-chiefs of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II took turns to advise the new chief on what was expected of him as the occupant of the Pampaso stool.

They reminded him of the task ahead of him since Pampaso is a sacred place where Asantehene performs sacrifice to honour gods and Asante Kingdom.

Otumfuo told the new chief that the Pampaso stool was one of the revered stools in the Asante Kingdom and therefore he (new chief) need to preserve the dignity and respect that was accorded the stool.

Asantehene advised Nana Kumanin to serve the people with honesty and desist from activities that could violate customs and traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom, and instead urged him to work closely with his elders at the palace.

He cautioned him against the acts of proudness by the virtue of being a chief, but rather engage his elders for wise counsel to be able to provide progressive leadership for the benefit of Asanteman.

Otumfuo was of the conviction that the new Pampasohene would justify the confidence reposed in him by the Kingmakers for selecting him out of some royals who contested for the vacant position.

The Pampasohene in his response thanked Otumfuo and his elders for the honour done him.

He pledged to serve the people of Pampamso and Asanteman with diligence and in truth to realize the mission in which he was installed as a chief.
