A fierce dispute over the selection of a new Chief Imam for Suame Nkramom in the Ashanti Region led to chaos on [date], prompting the swift intervention of the police to restore order.
The royal family, responsible for appointing the next Otumfuo Kramo, was deeply divided over who should assume the prestigious religious position. Tensions escalated into physical confrontations, forcing the Anti-Robbery Unit of the Ghana Police Service to intervene.
According to eyewitnesses, heated exchanges among family members turned violent as each faction insisted on their preferred candidate. Despite efforts to reach a consensus, the disagreement persisted, with neither side willing to back down.
“The argument got out of hand, and people started fighting. It was only when the police arrived that the situation calmed down,” said a resident who witnessed the incident.
