A philanthropist based in the United States, Mr Samuel Quansah Quarcoo and his friends has donated items worth thousands of dollars to some schools in Greater Accra.

The schools were O’REILLY SHS, BISHOP Girls, West Side School and
Emmaus Methodist School

some of the items that were donated were; shoes, school bags, textbooks, notebooks, boxes of an A4 sheet, pens, pencils, toothbrush and paste, sanitary pads, liquid soaps, sanitisers and many more.

Speaking at the various presentation ceremonies in Accra, Mr Samuel Quansah Quarcoo said the donation was his contribution to support the students and also to encourage them to study well. Mr Quarcoo said the initiative was borne out of his genuine love for charity and eagerness to improve the plights of the less privileged.

He added that he wanted to inculcate into the students the act of kindness so that whenever they are blessed with enough, they could also emulate the act of giving to support the underprivileged. The philanthropist who has been embarking on such charity works for some years now said he found fulfilment in giving back to society to improve the plight of the vulnerable and the underprivileged.

“I love to give back to society, especially to the needy because that is what gives me fulfilment,” he said.

Mr Quarcoo expressed profound gratitude to his well-wishers in the US who had been supporting his philanthropic work.

The Leadership of the schools expressed their appreciation to him and his friends for always coming to donate to the schools to help ease their burden.

The students also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Mr Quarcoo and his friends for always coming to their aid and promised to put the items to good use.

They thanked him for his generosity and were hopeful that he would continue to include them in subsequent donations.
