PHILANTHROPIST KOFI SEFA BOAKYE GIFTS 500-SEATER CHURCH AUDITORIUM AND THREE-ROOM MISSION APARTMENT TO ABIRA CHURCH OF CHRIST

The spirit of generosity and faith was profoundly demonstrated in the Abira community within the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region when a renowned businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Kofi Sefa Boakye, constructed and handed over an ultramodern 500-seater church auditorium complete with a three-room mission apartment to the Abira Church of Christ.
The magnificent facility, entirely funded by Mr. Boakye, stands as a testament to the power of faith-driven benevolence and community service. The newly dedicated structure has been described by many as a true architectural jewel that will not only enhance the worship experience of congregants but also strengthen the spiritual and social fabric of the Abira community.

At a colourful and spirit-filled dedication ceremony attended by church members, traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and residents of Abira, the Head Pastor of the Church, Pastor Williams Nyarko, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Boakye for his remarkable generosity and unwavering commitment to the work of God.

According to Pastor Nyarko, the completion and commissioning of the 500-seater auditorium and three-room mission apartment marked the beginning of a new chapter in the life of the Abira congregation. He described the philanthropist’s gesture as a divine blessing, saying it would serve as a beacon of faith and hope for generations to come.

“This project is far more than just a building; it is a legacy of love, faith, and service to God. Brother Sefa Boakye has shown exemplary dedication to God’s work and has inspired us all. His name will forever be remembered as a pillar of faith in this community,” Pastor Nyarko stated with gratitude.

He added that the three-room mission apartment attached to the auditorium would provide a comfortable home for resident ministers and visiting evangelists, thereby enhancing the church’s outreach programs, evangelism efforts, and community engagements in Abira and surrounding areas.

Speaking in an interview after the ceremony, Mr. Kofi Sefa Boakye shared that his motivation to embark on this project stemmed from his personal relationship with God and his deep appreciation for the church that nurtured his spiritual growth. He said he saw the project as a way to give back to God and his community.

“I have been abundantly blessed by God, and I believe that true thanksgiving is shown through service and giving. Constructing this church auditorium and the mission apartment is my humble way of expressing gratitude to God for His goodness and for the foundation this church gave me,” Mr. Boakye said humbly.

He further noted that his act was not driven by fame or recognition but by genuine faith and a heartfelt desire to see the Abira Church of Christ flourish. He encouraged the leadership and members of the church to take good care of the facility and use it to win more souls for Christ.

The dedication ceremony was characterized by joyous songs of praise, heartfelt prayers, and moments of thanksgiving. Church leaders, dignitaries from the Kwabre East Municipality, and community members took turns to commend Mr. Boakye for his selfless act of generosity, describing him as a shining example of how individual commitment can promote both spiritual and social development.

During the same event, Pastor Williams Nyarko used the occasion to renew his call on the Government of Ghana to consider returning the management of mission schools to the churches. He emphasized that when mission institutions managed their schools, discipline, morality, and academic excellence were upheld, unlike the current trend where indiscipline among students continues to rise.

He noted that restoring mission involvement in education would help rebuild moral values among the youth and prepare them to become responsible and God-fearing citizens capable of leading the nation with integrity.

The inauguration of the new 500-seater auditorium and three-room mission apartment marks a major milestone in the growth of the Abira Church of Christ. It stands as a lasting legacy of faith, generosity, and community development — a reminder that when individuals use their blessings for God’s work, entire communities are transformed.
