In a demonstration of his commitment to community development, Hon. Alex Yaw Baakoh, also known as Nana Abroso, Assembly Member for the Prestea Himan electoral area, has donated essential equipment to empower graduates and health workers in the Prestea Himan area. The donations were made to support young entrepreneurs and improve healthcare delivery in the community.
During a ceremony, Hon. Baakoh donated 15 hairdryers and 10 sewing machines to graduates of the Ghana National Traders and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) to encourage vocational skills among youth and promote self-reliance. He noted that this gesture was aimed at reducing youth unemployment and offering support to young people striving to make a living through trade and craftsmanship.
Additionally, Nana Abroso presented 10 motorbikes to the nurses and doctors of the Himan Ankobra Community Mining Health Center. This donation aims to ease the transportation challenges faced by the healthcare staff and to improve their mobility in delivering healthcare services. Hon. Baakoh pledged ongoing support to the health center, emphasizing his dedication to ensuring quality healthcare for the residents of Himan Ankobra.
Uncle Bob, the chairman of Nabroso Group of Companies in Prestea Himan Ankobra, expressed his gratitude to Nana Abroso for his continuous contributions and support to the community. He praised Hon. Baakoh’s commitment to uplifting the lives of community members and fostering development.
Amankwah Emmanuel, Physician Assistant at the Himan Ankobra Community Mining Health Center, accepted the motorbikes on behalf of the facility. In his remarks, he thanked Hon. Baakoh for the thoughtful gesture, acknowledging that the motorbikes will greatly assist healthcare providers in their work and enhance their ability to serve the community efficiently.
