Residents of Pakyi no.1, a farming community in the Amansie West District of Ashanti region are living in fear as weed Smoker’s keeps on threatened their lives.
Speaking to the press, one of the residents stated that, the weed guys have made the cemetery in the community as their haven of which it has become dangerous to even go there to lay down your corpse as you may be robb by these recalcitrant weed smokers.
Accordingto them, Police Personels have been sent on them to drive them out of the community and places where they have made as their hideouts but all attempt have proof futile.
“During the night, these smokers harassed us and even in the day time to some extent, the New Assembly Man have done his part as Community Volunteers were inaugurated to combat crimes, Police Personels have been brought here to support them but it seems the situation keeps worsening as the volunteers are not working now and the Police have stopped coming so we are pleading with the Assembly Man to rekindle and strategize the security plans in this Community to help stem the rate of criminal activities in this Pakyi number 1 Community”, they stressed. Meanwhile, the Unit Committee Member for the area had said they are trying their possible best but because they don’t have Police Station, all effort yields no result..
