One Dead, 30 Injured in Fatal Head-On Minibus Collision at Ejisu
A tragic road accident has claimed the life of one person and left at least thirty others injured following a head-on collision involving two commercial minibuses at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.

The accident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, is reported to have been caused by brake failure on one of the vehicles, leading to a violent collision with an oncoming minibus.
Eyewitnesses at the scene said the impact was severe, trapping several passengers in the mangled vehicles. Emergency responders, including personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, National Ambulance Service, and the Ghana Police Service, were swiftly deployed to rescue victims and convey the injured to nearby health facilities for medical attention.

Among those injured are two final-year students, whose conditions are said to be stable as they continue receiving treatment. Medical authorities confirmed that while some victims sustained minor injuries, others are in critical condition and remain under close observation.
The deceased, whose identity has not yet been officially released, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The body has since been deposited at the morgue for preservation and further investigations.

Police officials at Ejisu have launched a full investigation into the incident to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash. Preliminary reports point to mechanical failure, particularly faulty brakes, as the likely cause of the accident.
Residents and commuters have renewed calls for strict enforcement of vehicle roadworthiness regulations, urging transport operators to prioritize regular maintenance to prevent avoidable loss of lives on Ghana’s roads.

The tragic incident adds to growing concerns over road safety in the Ashanti Region, as authorities continue to appeal to drivers to observe speed limits, conduct routine vehicle checks, and adhere strictly to traffic regulations.
