In a remarkable display of community support and social responsibility, the Omene Buor Nana Fun Club has organized a free health screening exercise for residents of Apaa, a community in the Mampong Constituency of the Ashanti Region. The initiative, held in conjunction with Valentine’s Day activities, attracted hundreds of residents and provided much-needed healthcare services to the community.

The medical outreach brought together a team of qualified health professionals who conducted comprehensive health assessments, including blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, and general medical consultations. Beneficiaries diagnosed with minor ailments received free medication on the spot, while those with more serious conditions were referred to appropriate health facilities for further management.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Antwi Edward, the Apaa Branch President of the Omene Buor Nana Fun Club, expressed gratitude to the National President and the club’s leadership for their unwavering commitment to community development. He highlighted that the exercise forms part of the club’s broader vision of giving back to society and complementing government efforts in healthcare delivery.

Mr. Edward further urged residents to prioritize regular medical check-ups as a preventive measure, emphasizing that early diagnosis remains one of the most effective ways to manage and treat illnesses.

The Assembly Member for Apaa Electoral Area, Hon. Bernard Osei Owusu, also commended the club for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, particularly for families facing financial challenges. He called on the government to consider providing financial support to the club’s Chief Executive Officer to sustain and expand such community-based interventions, noting that private initiatives like this significantly contribute to grassroots development.

Hon. Owusu additionally renewed his appeal for the construction of a modern market facility in Apaa, aimed at boosting commercial activity and improving the livelihoods of residents.

Many beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation for the outreach, stating that the free screenings and medications eased their financial burdens while increasing their awareness of personal health. The exercise has been widely praised as a meaningful demonstration of love and compassion, reinforcing the importance of preventive healthcare and community solidarity in promoting overall well-being.
