OKESS SHS 1982 Year Group Constructs Ultra-Modern Toilet Facility for Alma Mater

The 1982 year group of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) has demonstrated their commitment to enhancing their alma mater by constructing a state-of-the-art 20-seater toilet facility. This significant contribution aims to address the sanitation and hygiene needs of the school’s students.

In addition to the modern toilet facility, which includes individual modern toilet bowls with cisterns, urinal bowls, hand washing basins, and an inner storeroom for cleaning materials, the group also donated 403 textbooks and 97 storybooks worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

The new facility is designed to improve the overall quality of life for students and provide a cleaner, more hygienic environment.

During the inauguration ceremony, Madam Janet Amoako, President of the 1982 Year Group, expressed the group’s pride in their association with OKESS. She stated, “We’re indeed proud of being past students of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School. This gesture is our way of showing appreciation for the school’s role in our development and success. It’s a way of giving back and acknowledging the foundation the school provided us.”

Mrs. Janet Amoako also assured that the group plans to continue supporting the school in the future and urged other alumni and corporate bodies to contribute to OKESS’s development. She advised current students to take good care of the new facility to ensure its longevity and proper functioning.

Madam Juliana Krobea Asante, the Assistant Headmistress of OKESS, expressed her gratitude for the donation. She highlighted that the school had been facing challenges related to inadequate sanitation facilities, making the timing of the new facility especially beneficial. “This new toilet facility will significantly improve the quality of life for our students and address a long-standing issue,” she said. “We are deeply grateful to the 1982 year group for their selfless and impactful contribution.”

The donation marks a significant milestone in the school’s efforts to enhance its infrastructure and provide better facilities for its students, reflecting the enduring spirit of giving back among its alumni.
