Participants at the launch proudly donned pink t-shirts, waving banners, and holding placards bearing messages such as bcighanawalk, BreastCancerAwareness, EarlyDetection, and JoinTheFightAgainstCancer, highlighting the cause and encouraging more people to join the movement to end breast cancer. The city of Kumasi was abuzz with excitement as walkers from all walks of life came together in a unified effort to raise awareness.
Commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, President of Breast Care International and Chairperson of the event, emphasized the critical need for continuous public education about breast cancer. She noted that early detection remains one of the most effective ways to combat the disease and urged women across the country to regularly examine their breasts and seek medical attention if they notice any abnormalities.
Our mission is to reduce breast cancer mortality by promoting early detection. She further noted that BCI has screened thousands of women across Ghana, providing essential services to underserved communities where access to healthcare is limited.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.and Direct Relief have provided critical resources, including medications and medical supplies, to support patients undergoing treatment. World Patients Alliance, UICC and Inspire2Live have continued to advocate for global cancer awareness and treatment access, with a particular focus on breast cancer.
