Odikro and people of Begorase, a rural community within the Odotobri constituency have clenched their fist in fury against NPP government over an abandoned road project.
The farming community according to sources is the hometown of Hon. Joseph Osei-Wusu, MP for Bekwai constituency.
However, the town is sadly riddled with bad roads.
A road project which if completed will link the community to Bekwai and cape coast highway has been abandoned by contractor.
The project commenced in the year 2020 through the able facilitation of Hon. Joseph Osei-Wusu.
Briefing the press, Odikro of Begorase Nana Kobea Nuamah mentioned that the contractor packed his bag and baggage and left the site after grading and constructing few drainage.
He said the dusty nature of roads in the community has made living uncomfortable for residents and that inhalation of the dust has exposed children and adults to inflamatory diseases.
The Odikro fired thev that several calls on the DCE, Hon. Michael Donkor has fallen on death ears, making the community look as though it doesn’t fall within the jurisdiction of Odotobri constituency.
“I don’t think the DCE is privy to the existence of this community in his jurisdiction”.
When there is a heavy downpour, roads in the community are unmotorable and as a Cocoa growing area, farmers find it difficult transporting their produce to the various market centers.
The Odikro has therefore called on government to come to their aide.
Adding his voice, Prophet Joshua Owusu, local clergy in charge of Jesus Mission Church-Begorase recalled cases of pregnant women who suffered miscarriaged due to the bad nature of the roads.
He therefore called on government to address the situation for them.
