Nyinahin Catholic SHS PTA Chairman Appeals for Urgent Support to Rebuild Burnt Dormitory and Replace School Bus

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman of Nyinahin Catholic Senior High School, Mr. Osei Kofi, has made a passionate appeal to old students, traditional authorities, benevolent individuals, and key stakeholders to come to the aid of the school in addressing two major infrastructure challenges.
In a recent meeting with parents and staff, Mr. Osei Kofi revealed that the school has been grappling with the absence of a proper dormitory facility after one of its main dormitory blocks was destroyed by fire more than three years ago. Despite numerous efforts, the school has not yet been able to reconstruct the facility, forcing many students to endure congested living conditions or commute from long distances under strenuous circumstances.
“The burnt dormitory has remained untouched for over three years now. Our students deserve better. We are appealing to all stakeholders – especially old students, nananom, philanthropists, and corporate bodies – to assist in rebuilding this essential infrastructure,” Mr. Kofi stated.
He emphasized that the continued lack of accommodation not only affects academic concentration but also poses security and health risks to the students, especially during the rainy season.
In addition to the dormitory issue, Mr. Osei Kofi also drew attention to the deteriorating condition of the school’s only bus. According to him, the bus, which is over a decade old, breaks down frequently and is no longer fit for transporting students for academic excursions, sports events, and other external programs.
“Our school bus is in a deplorable state. It can no longer guarantee the safety of students and staff during trips. We are therefore appealing to the government, through the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service, to urgently provide a new bus for the school,” he pleaded.
The PTA Chairman praised the dedication of the school’s administration and teaching staff, but stressed that their efforts alone cannot yield the desired results without the necessary infrastructure support.
Nyinahin Catholic Senior High School, located in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, has over the years produced notable personalities and continues to play a vital role in the region’s education development. However, the lack of adequate facilities remains a major challenge hindering its full potential.
Mr. Osei Kofi concluded his remarks by expressing optimism that with collective support and a renewed sense of community spirit, the school will soon overcome its infrastructural setbacks and provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
