Nweneso No. 3 Gets 20-Seater Water Closet Toilet Facility

The people of Nweneso No. 3 in the Atwima Kwanwoma District have been relieved of long-standing sanitation challenges following the commissioning of a 20-seater Water Closet (WC) toilet facility.

The facility, which was commissioned at a brief but well-attended ceremony, is expected to significantly improve hygiene, public health, and environmental sanitation in the community.

Addressing residents at the ceremony, the Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma, Hon. Kofi Amankwa-Manu, urged the people to use the facility judiciously and take collective responsibility for its maintenance to ensure its long-term sustainability. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the District Assembly and traditional authorities to accelerate development in the area.

In a similar message, the District Chief Executive (DCE) emphasized the importance of proper sanitation as a key component of community development. He called on residents to desist from open defecation and make full use of the new facility, noting that the Assembly remains committed to partnering with the MP to deliver more social infrastructure to Nweneso No. 3.

Adding his voice, the Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Anthony Kwame Nsiah, expressed gratitude to the MP and the District Assembly for always responding to the needs of the community. He assured that the community would safeguard the facility and ensure its proper use.

The chief of Nweneso No. 3, Nana Akwasi Abire II, also commended the government and all stakeholders involved in the project. He appealed to residents to develop a strong sense of ownership and maintain the facility for the benefit of present and future generations.

The ceremony was witnessed by former District Chief Executive, Hon. Prince Karikari, chiefs from Trede, opinion leaders, and a large gathering of community members, who expressed appreciation for the intervention.

The commissioning of the 20-seater WC forms part of ongoing efforts by the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament, to improve sanitation and enhance the living standards of residents across the district.
