Ntonso St Anthony Co-operative Credit Union Marks 10th Anniversary, Celebrates Digital Transformation and Financial Growth

The Ntonso St Anthony Co-operative Credit Union Limited has attributed its remarkable financial growth and enhanced customer satisfaction to the effective integration of digital technology into its operations. This was revealed during a colourful event held on Thursday, 1st May 2025, at the Ntonso Central Seventh Day Adventists’ Church to commemorate its 10th Anniversary and 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Speaking in an interview at the sidelines of the event, the Ashanti Regional Board Chairman of the Union, Honourable Kwarteng Amaniampong, highlighted that the introduction of mobile banking services and innovative financial products has significantly improved the ease and security of transactions for their clientele.

According to him, customers can now perform a wide range of transactions from the comfort of their homes without having to carry large sums of money over long distances, reducing both inconvenience and security risks.

“Our clients are our biggest priority. That is why we continuously explore innovations that make banking with us more convenient, secure, and rewarding,” Honourable Amaniampong stressed.

He further disclosed that the Credit Union experienced unprecedented financial growth in the 2024 financial year, a milestone he attributed largely to the adoption of digital solutions. He also announced that the Union has set an ambitious target to grow its total assets to at least 30 million Ghana Cedis within the next two years, positioning itself to graduate from a medium-level credit union to a large-category institution.

In a related development, the Manager of Ntonso St Anthony Co-operative Credit Union, Mr. Godfrey Opoku, advised loan seekers, particularly market women who usually apply for group loans, to be cautious about loan conditions.

He noted that many loan seekers fall into financial hardship due to exorbitant interest rates and poor planning regarding loan utilisation.

“Every prospective borrower must assess the interest rate critically and ensure that the loan serves a productive purpose,” Mr. Opoku cautioned. “It is disheartening when hardworking individuals end up losing their earnings to high-interest loans simply because they did not do due diligence.”

Several customers commended the Union for its commitment to meeting customer needs, describing the institution as selfless and highly responsive.

In appreciation of their long-standing loyalty, deserving customers were honoured with various appliances, including refrigerators, television sets, and microwaves, as tokens of gratitude from the management.

The 10th Anniversary and 5th AGM celebration not only marked a decade of impactful service to the people of Ntonso and beyond but also symbolised the Union’s readiness to embrace the future with innovation, resilience, and an unwavering focus on customer satisfaction.
