Abibatu was arrested alongside three male suspects identified as Abubakar Ibrahim, Mamud Ibrahim and Muhamed Kiri.
A Nigerian woman, identified as Mrs Abibatu Jimoh has been arrested by the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
She was arrested for being the supplier of garri and other food items to kidnappers.
She was specifically accused of supplying food items to the kidnappers of Jumoke Bamigboye, wife of a former military governor of Osun State, Col. Theophilus Bamigboye (rtd).
Abibatu was arrested alongside three male suspects identified as Abubakar Ibrahim, Mamud Ibrahim and Muhamed Kiri.
This was confirmed by the command’s spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi, who said, “Abibatu was discovered to be the supplier of garri and other food items with which victims of kidnappers are fed while in captivity.”
Meanwhile, SaharaReporters earlier reported that Bamigboye confirmed paying a ransom to secure the release of his wife kidnapped by the gunmen.
Mrs Bamigboye, who was kidnapped at Eiyenkorin, a suburb of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, was released Monday night by her abductors.
Mrs Bamigboye, a Magistrate and member of Rotary Club International, was returning from her farm in Ilorin’s Oko-Olowo region, where she had gone to monitor garri processing for some clients when she was abducted by the gunmen.
The gunmen later contacted the victim’s family, demanding a ransom of N100 million.
The ransom was later reportedly negotiated downward to N50 million.
Confirming the release of his wife on Tuesday, Colonel Bamigboye (rtd) said, “She was set free and released last (Monday) night, we thank God for her safety but not without payment of ransom.”
Okasanmi said three suspects had been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Mrs Bamigboye.
