The New Edubiase traditional council has ousted Nana Amoako Tuffour from his role as Abadwumhene due to gross misconduct. The announcement was made by Oguahyia Oduro Panin Birikorang I at a council meeting on August 13, 2014.
The Queen Mother of Abadwum, Nana Akyaw Konadu Yiadom, detailed Nana Tuffour’s severe disrespect towards his subchiefs and his repeated failure to honor significant traditional ceremonies such as Awukudae and Akwasidae. Opanin Kwaku Asare from the Oyoko Royal family also presented evidence of the chief’s misconduct to the council.
Nana Akua Dwum II, Queen Mother of New Edubiase, was taken aback by the chief’s behavior and deemed him unsuitable to lead. Despite multiple summons from the council to address the charges, Nana Tuffour failed to appear, leading to his removal by Oguahyia Oduro Birikorang I.
